An editor is a creative technician responsible for assembling images and sounds to build the rhythm, emotion, and coherence of a film or audiovisual program. It is at the heart of the post-production process.
The Image Editor selects the best shots, synchronizes audio tracks, calibrates images, and creates a smooth, engaging narration. A true “third writing” of a film, editing gives shape to the story imagined by the screenwriter and captured by the director. This specialization requires rigor, artistic sense and mastery of professional software.
A sound editor is a professional creative contributor, in charge of sound editing. It brings together and assembles the sound elements of a movie. His job is to create or recreate the soundscape of the movie.
